The Primary goal of the Citrus Newcomers Club will always be to help new residents get acquainted with their new county and each other. The club is strictly social, with leadership provided by volunteer members. The organization we know as Citrus Newcomers Club began in 1992 when Norma Hatfield, an Inverness resident, and three friends were playing bridge. They came up with the idea that there should be a club where new residents of Citrus County, FL could meet, get acquainted and learn about the area where they live. Thus, the Inverness Newcomers Club was born. The group began to meet once a month for lunch at local restaurants. Over time, the club expanded beyond Inverness and became known as the Citrus Newcomers Club, reflecting its broader reach across Citrus County.  We look forward to meeting you soon!
